A contemporary art museum destined to rival the Tate Modern in London and MoMA in New York opens on Cape Town’s V&A waterfront in September. The ambitious Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa is the first of its kind dedicated to contemporary African art. A 1921 elevator tower and surrounding storage silos have been transformed during the three-year, 80-gallery project.
