Shanghai calling

Join Gourmet Traveller and luxury travel specialist APT at Madame Shanghai for a bespoke Chinese banquet.

-

Luxury river-cruise specialist APT and Gourmet Traveller are once again joining forces to create unforgettable journeys. To celebrate their ongoing partnership and launch the new itineraries for 2018, they’re hosting a special bespoke dinner at the new Madame Shanghai, in Sydney's Darlinghurst.

The restaurant’s elegant Chinoiserie décor evokes the Shanghai of the

1930s – the ideal ambience for discussing the Chinese tour, the 13-Day Best of China: Beijing to Shanghai. This journey includes a four-night cruise on the Yangtze River, a cruise around Beijing’s Summer Palace in a traditional vessel and lunch at the Great Wall of China. Guests will also hear about the other itineraries, all of which include expert-guided tours, specially designed one-off meals and exclusive experiences, making for unique adventures. Members of the Gourmet Traveller team will join the tours to share their invaluable insight.

For this celebratory banquet, Shanghai-born executive chef Chris Yan’s menu is largely Shanghai-inspired with a focus on the charcoal grill seen in dishes such as satay chicken skewers and king prawns, while regional influences appear in the likes of soft-shell crab with Singaporean chilli sauce. Join us for this taste of China – it promises to be an inspiring evening not to be missed.
