HOW TO CLEAN MUSSELS

Place the mussels in a colander under cold running water, then use a scrubbing brush to remove any debris from the shells. To remove the beard (hair-like fibres), pinch it between your thumb and forefinger and tug toward the hinge of the mussel shell.
