EXAMPLE JAM PIECE

-

[Chorus 1, bars 1-14] The jam starts out with a two bar drum count-in. The opening chorus uses a selection of classic Clapton-st yle phrases based around shapes 1 and 2 of the A Minor Pentatonic scale. When playing a C natural note against the A7 chord, tr y bending it slightly sharp (a blues ‘curl’). This will help it to fit in the Major context, and its Major/Minor ambiguity is what gives that ‘bluesy’ sound. Eric uses this trick all the time.
