Now, given the chords and So­prano part, we can add the Alto. We can in­tro­duce some sim­ple rhyth­mic in­de­pen­dence from the So­prano part, and also en­sure there is no un­wanted par­al­lel mo­tion. No­tice how the non-di­a­tonic G in bar 2 (which is flat­ter than the di­a­tonic G#) re­solves down a semi­tone to F#.
