Blues fans – you need to wit­ness the fire­works on show at this year’s Blues­Fest, tak­ing place between 26-31 Oc­to­ber at the Royal Al­bert Hall. This gi­gan­tic six-day fes­ti­val of blues mu­sic has a great line-up of rootsy house­hold names, as well as some world-renowned gui­tar tal­ent, as you’d ex­pect.

Along­side Van Mor­ri­son, Gre­gory Porter, Elvis Costello, Robert Cray and Sh­eryl Crow, a crop of blues, soul and jazz names will de­scend on the Hall for a se­ries of day­time con­certs. Dr Feel­good, Mud Mor­gan­field, Beth Hart, Cur­tis Stigers, Ge­orgie Fame, Jo Har­man, Jess Roberts and ris­ing stars Mar­cus Bon­fanti, Danny Bryant and Dan Owen will all be play­ing, and there’ll also be a se­ries of ‘In Con­ver­sa­tion With...’ ses­sions, and a strong ed­u­ca­tional thread fea­tur­ing in­stru­men­tal work­shops, master­classes and clin­ics. For as­pir­ing young blues boys and girls, there are chil­dren’s Blues Sto­ry­telling ses­sions, too.
