[Bars 110- end] The original fades out, so to provide a definitive stop on the backing track – and also to keep it as faithful to Gary as possible – I’ve provided a standard ending based on the chorus lick in the main solo. In the live situation, as a largely improvising player, Gary’s endings were all about eye contact with his band members – especially drums and bass – and ‘feeling’ what they’re going to do.
