This example is inspired by bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs. It’s a G major, three-notes-per-string line, playing open strings to emulate the 5th and 4th frets respectively. This gives the guitar an open-tuning feel and allows these notes to ring and, with a good acoustic, allows the wood to ring out!
