Example2 fifth-string root legato idea
Here’s a E similar approach, but this time using a fifth-string root shape. As with the previous exercise, ensure that the hammer- ons are confident and positive, and the pull- offs are played properly. Specifically, the first finger note needs to be fretted a fraction after the higher one, and pressed down hard enough so that the ‘pulling off’ finger flicks downwards off the string onto that note. Remember, slow and accurate is better than fast and sloppy!
