John Coltrane starts in F Mixoly­dian with a chro­matic pass­ing note, then moves up Bb Mixoly­dian with a chro­matic pass­ing note over the Bb7, end­ing in Bb Half-Whole Di­min­ished and mov­ing back to land on the 3rd (A) and root of F7, lead­ing into him out­lin­ing the im­plied se­quence F7, Gm7, G#dim7, F/A, com­ing back down F Mixoly­dian and lead­ing chro­mat­i­cally into C Melodic Mi­nor over the Cm7, end­ing on the root on F7. He then an­tic­i­pates the Bb7, mov­ing into Bb Mixoly­dian with a chro­matic pass­ing note, then F Ly­dian b7 and F Mixoly­dian over the F7. Over the Am7b5, he comes down the F Ma­jor Scale with a chro­matic pass­ing note lead­ing into an Eb­dim7 ar­peg­gio over the D7 and re­solves to a Gm ar­peg­gio, then uses G Melodic Mi­nor over the Gm7, mov­ing down chro­mat­i­cally then com­ing back up C Mixoly­dian over the C7 and clos­ing in F Mixoly­dian over the fi­nal F7.
