Gary’s sound is all about pure tone, so a Les Paul (or bridge-hum­buck­ing equiv­a­lent) gui­tar into a cranked Mar­shall-style valve amp will get you close. Gary was also fond of us­ing the Mar­shall Guv’nor pedal into his JTM45 on the Still Got The Blues al­bum, so it’s pos­si­ble he re­tained its ser­vices for his mas­sive sound on this track. A sim­i­lar, tonally rich dis­tor­tion or boost pedal will do the trick. Gary also uses a lit­tle slap­back de­lay of around 100-120ms to cre­ate a nice feel­ing of depth with­out sat­u­rat­ing the sound with loads of re­verb.
