[Bars 1-20] The temp­ta­tion here is to put in too many ac­cents. Make sure you main­tain a con­sis­tent down­pick­ing tone, es­pe­cially as you move to the Csus2 and G/B chords. Keep an eye on the bal­ance be­tween chok­ing the strings com­pletely and pro­vid­ing just the right amount of palm-mut­ing. [Bars 21-28] Although the chords are easy enough, the 8th-note pushes can feel slightly awk­ward against Roger’s un­con­ven­tional tom fills. Most tom fills tend to de­scend in pitch in a fairly lin­ear pat­tern, but here they of­ten rise and in slightly un­ex­pected places (make sure you’re count­ing care­fully).
