Over the first three bars, although all the notes are from C# mixolydian, Robben Ford plays around a C#13 arpeggio with the 11th (F#) added then suggests G#m over the second C#13, moving up C# mixolydian and hanging on the 11th over the second B/C#. Over the changes in the third bar he plays around A lydian augmented (mode 3 of melodic minor), outlining C#7, F#m and C#9 before returning to C# mixolydian for the final bar with a descending pattern on the top two strings before closing on the 5th (G#) over the B/C# chord.
