This is the kind of playing you’ll hear from Bernie at the end of Take It Easy – though in the absence of a banjo, I’ve used a Fender Telecaster with some compression. The repetitive high Gs at the top are a tip of the hat toward the type of banjo Bernie would have used, with an open high G (fifth string), played by the thumb. As well as the compression (which helps) aim to play as evenly as you can, not letting the low or high end dominate.
