[Bar 12-15] The famous melody over the pedal A note bass should be played strictly in time, alternating thumb and fingers free stroke in the picking hand.

[Bar 16-20] Here we have a repeated phrase descending in arpeggios then broken chords – keep it as tidy as possible and at full tempo. The A major chord at bar 18 requires a fretting stretch and the descending chord sequence appears again an octave higher in bar 19 after a flourishing scale passage.
