This riff uses the open third string as a root-note pedal and notes from the d Major scale along the third string. Pick the notes in a straight eighth-note rhythm using downstrokes throughout, and palm-mute for a staccato sound. set a delay pedal to repeat a dotted eighth note rhythm; this will fill in the 16th-notes inbetween the eighth-notes.
