Pick with downstroke­s throughout for a consistent tone, but for the e notes1, at the 7th fret, fifth string touch the string with the side of your thum4b as you pick to produce a pinched harmonic. Add a typical tone-wide heavy rock vibrato to make the note sing. if there’s a monitor nearby you know where to put your right foot!
