These funky disco style chords are voiced on the top three strings. As we move be­tween the chord sym­bols on the chart, ev­ery ef­fort is made to make the tran­si­tions from chord to chord nice and smooth - this is called voice lead­ing. Just mov­ing one or two notes in small in­ter­vals helps with con­ti­nu­ity. The rhythm is kept snappy and tight. The sec­tion of 7#9 chords leads us into a gui­tar solo in the style of Prince and Slash; this com­bines the wah-wah and a full-on, soar­ing over­drive. The scale in use here is F Mi­nor
