Gilmour’s tone combines fatness and edge in equal measure. So plenty of bass and treble but back off the mids. Single-coils will get you closest. Set the amp quite clean, and for Study 1 add a decent amount of overdrive plus a touch of chorus and delay. For Study 2, a lighter drive, just on the edge of break-up will suffice. Experiment with pick attack for David’s broad levels of dynamics.
