A bittersweet finale It wasn’t supposed to end like this for a national rock treasure.“This was by no means business as usual,” notes Quo’s Francis Rossi. With Rick Parfitt absent in 2016 during the first of a series of health issues that would sadly lead to his eventual passing, he gave his blessing for the band to bow out from playing UK electric tours. And they do him proud here at the O2 Arena, pulling together with guitarist Richie Malone. In The Army Now is still no more palatable now than it was in 1986, but 70s classics such as Down Down and Paper Plane still thunder down the tracks.
