Nev’s GAs of the moNth:
Every issue I’ll let you know of a bit of gear that’s floated my boat (rather than sunk it, as in the previous scenario). And staying with the seaside theme, how about something surfy? What? Fender 1958 Custom ShopJazzmaster Where seen? Coda Music, Stevenage Price? £3,149 Description? See-through white Journeyman Relic with ash body and gold anodised pickguard. This is not even my kind of guitar, really, and it wasn’t the immediately best looking of all the Jazzes and Jags when I visited Coda recently. But up close it was gorgeous, played like a dream, and through a little Carr amp with reverb had that wonderful chimey twang that you just can’t find on a Tele or Strat. Would I ever use it? Probably not, but it wouldn’t half look cool nonchalantly leaning up against the wall in my flat!
