For our purposes Here, we’re going to inject a little more of a jazz sensibility into the proceedings and, taking the key of G, look at how these ideas will easily fit over a standard II-V-I sequence. So the II chord would be Amin7, the V, as before, a D7 (Chris plays a D7 with an A root here) and back to the root of G. Notice the chord voicings – economical, effective and, most importantly from a learning point of view, instantly transferable to other keys.
