“A person has to find how they can express themselves and play the music with the best feeling they can muster,” Tommy Emmanuel says. “I play my song Drivetime with a pick and people write to me from time to time saying, ‘Why don’t you play it with a thumb-pick?’ and I always say, ‘I play this song with a pick because I can play with more feeling that way’. But when I play Blue Moon, I need the thumb-pick because then I play with more feeling in that song.”
