USE EFFECTS LOOPS EFFECTIVELY

-

“Traditionally, lots of players like their time-based effects in the loop, such as delays and reverbs,” says Daniel Steinhardt, explaining that by placing them in the loop repeats and reverbs don’t get distorted by running through the amp’s gainadding preamp stage – and thus ring out clean and clear instead. “But it all depends on individual effects and that particular amp’s effects loop,” Dan adds. “These are not all created equal. I’ve become a big fan of plugging everything in the front.” As always, use your ears and try it both ways.
