CHECK THE NECK

-

Always try to inspect second-hand gear in person before buying where possible. One of the common problems is a guitar’s neck, which deserves special attention, as if it’s warped, there may be no economical way to repair it. Sight down the neck from the nut end to the body using the low E string as a straight edge. Do the frets look parallel with each other? If the neck doesn’t have a slight concave curve, or has an uneven or twisted surface, then walk away.
