Light, bright purple-red and fresh looking. Fragrant and red-fruited with cranberry, cooked strawberry and redcurrants, some brown spice, but clearly free from oak influence. Only 2-8yo puncheons have been used for maturation. Ageing a wine allows all the youthful exuberance to mellow, and the flavours and tannins to come into balance. In time, the fresh fruit flavours give way to the leathery, earthy and spicy characters while the tannins polymerise and soften.
