2015 REDMAN COONAWARRA CABERNET SAUVIGNON

-

RRP $33 / 2035

40yo vines, crushed, open-fermented, 7 days on skins, matured in French oak (25% new) for 12 months, six gold medals, four trophies. A great example of hands-off winemaking, and of the very best of the Redman medium-bodied style. Cassis fruit, modest French oak and ripe but fine tannins are seamlessly woven together. The X-factor? Picked at perfect ripeness, down to the very days. If the wine had a screwcap it would be a 40-year proposition. 14.2% alc.

WINEMAKER Daniel Redman What do you love about aged wine?

It’s hard to go past opening an old Redman Cabernet to discover the amazing secondary characters in the glass. Older wines continue to evolve and surprise you with their depth and complexity, improving more and more over time.
