Hand-picked fruit was given a cold soak before a relatively cool fermentation and a gentle extraction regime. The wine was then transferred to barrel for 14 months. Hailing from the prodigious ’11 vintage, this mid-weighted, engaging wine exhibits a whiff of aged complexity while holding plenty more cards up its sleeve. Bitter chocolate and coffee grind tannins unravel notes of hoisin sauce, anise and old leather, mingling with the primary dark-fruit tones still clinging to their youth. 14% alc. NG
