Made from a small, low-cropping single vineyard. Cold-soaked, open-fermented, 33% whole bunches, matured in French puncheons (70% new) for 20 months. It is, of course, a massive, full-bodied wine, crammed with blackberry, pepper and anise fruit that has ridden rough-shod over the new oak. The tannins on the finish are ripe, and are necessary to guarantee the 50-year future of the wine. 14.7% alc
