Sure-bet chardonnay. As delicious as it is persistent. Pear, peach and grapefruit, a touch of smoky oak, a creaminess to the mouthfeel. It looks ready to drink now but time won’t be unkind. CM 12.5% alc. The fruit, from a single vineyard site at Echunga in the Adelaide Hills, is consistently great. Simplicity is the key to production here. Full solids barrel ferment in French oak (30% brand new) contribute to a wine that offers excellent current drinking, but will mature gracefully with bottle development.
