2015 PROVENANCE REGIONAL SELECTION GEELONG CHARDONNAY
RRP $47 / 2030
From the close-planted Strathmore Vineyard in the Moorabool Valley, hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French barriques (40% new), matured for 10 months on lees, then a barrel selection, the vinification identical to its Regional Selection siblings, apart from the percentage of new oak compared to 33%. The reason is quite possibly the ultra-close 1m x 1m vineyard spacing, and while the oak is a little more obvious, it is easily carried by the flow of perfectly ripened fruit, white peach to the fore. 13.2% alc.
WINEMAKERS Scott Ireland & Sam Vogel Where does this chardonnay fit in your range?
This chardonnay is one of three in our Regional Selection range, which exists to explore and showcase great vineyard sites of south-west Victoria. It is not a reserve nor a multi-vineyard blend. It is simply a carefully grown and crafted wine illustrative of its significant regional provenance.
