From Kuitpo, crushed, pressed, settled, fermented in stainless steel, matured in French oak (10% new). Melon, white peach, green apple, grapefruit. Any more takers for the fruit ride? I don’t think so, nor is there much oak influence to talk about, just a touch of the struck match of its ’16 Contour stablemate. 13.5% alc. This single vineyard chardonnay from the Kuitpo sub-region of the Adelaide Hills is harvested in the early hours of the morning and fermented in stainless steel with 10 per cent seeing oak post ferment. This chardonnay has great fruit expression, a good acid line, and it is bright and fresh. Perfect with many dishes including pan-seared King George Whiting and chicken tagine with preserved lemons.
