2016 Freycinet Pinot Noir

Estate-grown in a natural amphitheatre planted in ’79. A wine that has always danced to the beat of its own drum, perhaps due in part to the relatively few vineyards on the east coast of Tasmania. Savoury tannins as fine as talcum powder provide a constant backdrop to the plum and cherry fruit. Lighter than the ’15 released a year ago, but has compensating length. 13.5% alc.
