2016 Nannup Estate Firetower Shiraz Malbec Tempranillo

40% shiraz, 30% malbec, 20% tempranillo, 10% merlot, blended after fermentation, matured for 12 months in used French oak. Bright crimson-purple; the Nannup Estate red wines certainly make an impact. The expectation of a light- to medium-bodied, easy, present-drinking wine was way off the mark – the wine is on the full side of medium-bodied, with a full spray of red fruits backed by firm tannins.
