2015 Streicker Nysa

66.67% cabernet franc, 33.33% cabernet sauvignon, hand-picked, destemmed and gently crushed, cool-fermented for 14 days, matured in French barriques (50% new) for 18 months. As expected, the cabernet franc gives the wine a distinctive aroma, almost, but not quite, pungent, its lighter structure also contributing much to the open face of the wine. The finish is at once spicy and juicy, driven by flavours, not tannins. The way the wine has soaked up the new French oak is exceptional. 13.5% alc.
