2017 First Foot Forward The Patch Vineyard Yarra Valley Chardonnay

Hand-picked, wild-fermented in puncheons, 20% mlf, matured on lees for 9 months. This would immediately be identified as an Upper Yarra Valley wine, but it’s nowhere near all the other vineyards – it’s higher and leans steeply into the morning sun. The wine is intensely focused, long and linear. All the right winemaking steps have been done, but it’s like polishing 24-carat gold. 13.5% alc.
