2016 Deep Woods Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker: Julian Langworthy
Incredible lift with notes of rosehip and blueberries, coupled with an enticing scent of star anise. Redcurrant and plum flavours are supported by powder-fine tannins and integrated oak.
What do you believe defines your style of cabernet?
Seductive ripeness yet perfect poise. For me, this is the ultimate expression of cabernet from Deep Woods. Crafted from our oldest vines, this exceptionally lowyielding fruit has a style unique to Margaret River; elegant and refined, yet vibrant, alluring and complex.
What are your favourite food matches for this wine?
Great cabernet for me requires an amazing piece of meat. Dry-aged ribeye, nicely crusted from the barbecue, handcut chips, rocket salad and a date with my wife to help me share it. Oh, and hot English mustard of course.
