NEW RELEASES
★ The Riverland is on show in new releases from Prometheus Wines. The portfolio of emerging varieties includes single-vineyard reds such as the Aglianico, Barbera, Grenache, Mataro, Montepulciano and Tinta Barocca, each priced at $25.
★ Peter Lehmann is launching its four Masters wines as a collection, comprising the Barossa brand’s bottleaged releases. These include the 2015 Wigan Riesling, 2015 Margaret Semillon, 2018 Eight Songs Shiraz, and 2018 Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon ($45 each). These latest releases also now carry a refreshed look.
★ Jansz Tasmania has released five wines with its Premium Cuvée ($30), Premium Rosé ($30), 2017 Vintage Cuvée ($47), 2013 Late Disgorged Vintage Cuvée ($56) and the 2016 Single Vineyard Vintage Chardonnay ($65).
★ The three new-vintage releases in the Clementine range from Mudgee’s Logan Wines are out now, which have labels as pretty as the wines. The skincontact range includes the salty 2021 Clementine de la mer, orange 2021 Clementine Pinot Gris and the 2021 Clementine Blushing Minnie, a light red that was made to be chilled. Priced at $25 each, the wines are an excellent trio for summer.
★ Austrian grape variety specialist Hahndorf Hill in the Adelaide Hills has released its 2021 Gru Grüner Veltliner ($28). With a perfumed nose of mandarin peel and stone fruit, the wine has a long, juicy finish.
★ The Group has released the 2020 The Murder McLaren Vale Shiraz ($30), which is full of dark fruits, notes of pitted olive, with a full, lush mouthfeel. It’s available at First Choice, Liquorland and Vintage Cellars.
★ The Barossa Valley’s St Hallett has released its 2021 collection of five red wines, including an inaugural release of a lighter style. The releases comprise the 2019 Higher Earth Syrah ($60), 2017 St Hallett Old Block Shiraz ($159), 2019 Mighty Ox Shiraz ($210), 2019 Blackwell Shiraz ($54.99) and new 2021 Blockhead Shiraz Nouveau ($26). The latter debut wine is mediumbodied and ideal for chilling.
★ McLaren Vale’s Serafino has released four wines from the 2021 vintage – the Serafino Fiano, Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Montepulciano, each priced at $25.
