Matilda breaks all the records!

Matilda The Musical has taken the title of the most-awarded musical in the Helpmann Awards’ 16-year history. Matilda’s whopping 13 nominations include Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Male and Female Actor, Best Choreography and Best Lighting Design, among others. The musical, directed by Mathew Warchus, is based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl. For those who are not familiar with the childhood classic, the story follows the adventures of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. The musical’s success seems unstoppable, wining over 60 international awards, 14 as best musical and an inclusion in TIME magazine as one of the top 10 productions in 2013.
