Screen time on Kauai

-

This stunning island has provided the backdrop to 70 movies, from ‘Jurassic Park’ to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. Pack the popcorn and cruise along in Roberts Hawaii’s ‘ theatre on wheels’ - a minibus that stops at film locations while you watch the corresponding movie clip on a video monitor on board.

Younger kids will enjoy a train ride through working sugarcane plantations and fruit orchards with the Kauai Plantation Railway, and they can take their time feeding the farm animals along the way.

This quiet island has an abundance of family-friendly beaches for swimming, snorkelling and sailing – Poipu Beach, in particular. A stay at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa in Poipu offers plenty of activities to do together as a family, and there are pools for adults needing a quiet escape, along with a meandering river pool and saltwater lagoon. The kids’ club caters for ages three to 12, and everyone will laugh themselves silly learning to hula at the Polynesian Luau show.
