If your kid wants to truly learn the nitty gritty details of what it takes to work with animals day in, day out, then the Junior Zoo Keeper Club at the National Zoo & Aquarium has their name on it. The membership allows schoolkids from years three to 10 to attend weekend behindthe-scenes sessions that include preparing food, feeding the animals, making enrichment toys, cleaning enclosures and learning about animal health. Just make sure all kids are dressed appropriately – it can get a bit messy!
