Isn’t our candy-themed cover this issue just adorable? We thought so too, which is why we are opening our 51st edition of Holiday with Kids with a countdown of the coolest lolly stores in the world. As always, our writers have been jetting around the world in search of the latest and greatest in family travel. We learn about the life of a gaucho in Argentina, explore Japan’s Tohoku region, get lost among the temples of Cambodia, get an insider’s guide to the Philippines, and find out why Fiji’s Castaway is the most family-friendly island on Earth.

2017 has been declared the United Nations’ International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, and to celebrate, we’ll be bringing you an eco-focus each issue. In our first instalment we follow Carolyn Beasley and family to Malaysia to witness sea turtle conservation in action.

Back on our home turf, we discover why Lord Howe Island is a family favourite, round up the best places for snow bunnies to hit the slopes, reveal the best of kid-friendly South Australia, cycle the beaches of Tropical North Queensland, and spend a night sleeping among animals in Dubbo.

For those with a soft spot for hashtags, we count down the most Instagrammed places in Oz, before following social media stars – The Blonde Nomads – along the east coast on a camping adventure. To up the cute factor we asked our younger readers why they love camping holidays – trust us, their charming answers will have you laughing out loud.

Until next time, safe and happy travels,
