There are seven rooms in the central ushaka Lodge, six Giraffe Treehouses and five Jungle Bungalows dotted across the zoo. Jamala welcomes children aged six and over (or four and over on its monthly Family Nights) to discover what it’s like to share your backyard with some of the world’s most dangerous and endangered animals. The Jamala experience
The 22-hour stay includes all your food and top-class beverages. Dinner features five courses of African-inspired cuisine, served in a cavernous dining room alongside the guests of honour: a pair of rare ‘white’ lions.
You’ll also enjoy exclusive guided tours of the National Zoo & Aquarium, where you might help feed the meerkat family, distribute enrichment toys for the cheeky capuchin monkeys or give the white rhino a pat. You’ll explore the open-range extension that opened in May 2017, which made The National Zoo & Aquarium one of the largest privately owned zoos in Australia.
