The updated mid-century aesthetic of this gorgeous sitting room won over our judges. “I love the pairing of the light fixture with that sofa,” says Jessica, Temple & Webster’s head of styling. “It’s very sophisticated. It feels a bit old-world New York, harking back to the olden days, but an updated version of it.” beauty secrets:
Beautiful Rooms finalist Paola embraced her favourite colour combination – black, grey, blue and tan – and her preferred species (thank you, ‘Black Lion’ print from Crate Expectations) when creating a second family living room in her Melbourne home. A slim-armed Chesterfield from West Elm echoes the print’s masculinity but is softened by an ottoman found in Paola’s mother’s garage, covered in a classy blue velvet (try Spotlight for similar). The deco-inspired ‘Rochelle 9’ pendant in Brushed Bronze from Beacon Lighting is a brassy complement. >
