Ed’s letter Entertaining at home makes new memories for Sarah
One of my favourite things about working on Home Beautiful is seeing firsthand how Australians live in their homes and how these spaces are changing to meet our needs. Two zones that are most responsive to lifestyle trends are the kitchen and bathroom – they have to be, since they’re the hardest-working areas in any home, where new innovations and the latest appliances, finishes and fittings are key to creating spaces that are not just functional, but also on trend. So this month, from page 151, we have pulled together our ultimate guide to kitchens and bathrooms, with six gorgeous rooms plus lots of features on all the key elements that you need to consider before you start renovating.
It’s almost spring, so it’s time to give the house a bit of a refresh. In this issue, we’re sharing new-season finds for the bedroom – gorgeous bedlinen and accessories – plus lots of tips and tricks from the experts to help you pull it all together beautifully. See it from page 40.
But my favourite feature has to be about creating the perfect grazing table (right, on page 139), just in time for warmer weather. It’s all about family, friends and hosting an event where guests will linger for hours. They’re the best gatherings, aren’t they? The ones where memories are made. I’ve had so many moments that I’ll never forget, dining outdoors in our little house, from birthday parties and barbecues to casual family dinners. Our food team has shared some amazing recipes (I can’t wait to try the Moroccan carrot dip – so easy!) to inspire your own entertaining escapades. And, in this edition, you can actually see where recipe writer Kerrie makes her magic. See her amazing kitchen on page 116, and yes, it’s the ultimate entertainer’s space! I hope you enjoy the issue.
