FRONT LOUNGE

Furnished predominantly with mid-century pieces that are right at home amid an eclectic collection of contemporary, clean-lined items, this open-plan space (opposite) is softened by the contoured sofa by interior designer Christine Joubert (the Modern Curved Sofa by Mark Alexander Design has a similar look). Christine also designed the daybed (to get the look try Brosa’s ‘Macintosh’ daybed in French Beige fabric). A portrait of Christine’s late mother as a child (artist unknown) fills the space above the sideboard, its pops of green hinting at the verdant scene beyond the window.

POOLSIDE

A glass facade floods the house with beautiful soft light – ideal for displaying the couple’s art collection (above). Two sleek outdoor chairs on the deck add an elegant touch (try the ‘Studio’ Wire Outdoor Lounge Chair in Black from Zanui).
