I’m a painter in Australia and picked up your mag the other day. It’s great – a fantastic publicatio­n! Here are just a few images of my work. I’d really appreciate your opinion. I mainly work on a commission only basis, but these are the start of a body of work I’m doing for a show. Thanks for your time and, once again: great mag! Look in magazines, online and got to art classes for more ways to create the art you want to create. Be a sponge, soak up all the tips and tricks you can find, and never give up. Good luck!

Pulling faces

I really enjoyed issue 124. Regarding the letter from Kris concerning an issue focusing on cartoons and caricature­s, I would wholeheart­edly support this and hope enough other readers do too, so you can give it serious considerat­ion. For instance, I really enjoyed the issue on comic art some months ago (117), but it did rather focus on the superhero genre. How about looking more closely at other style of comics and graphic novels? Chris Dyson, via email Beren replies Hey Chris! It’s funny you should say that. Female-coddling?

I’m writing about this gender bias topic and in particular the effect it had on issue 123. We can’t deny that this industry is dominated by males and I’m not really interested in discussing why it’s the case. What bothers me is this twisted thought
