Painting leather

I want to depict a shiny material for the character’s boots, such as leather or latex. My technique is very simple. After all, you don’t have to be ultrarealistic in cartoons – you just have to suggest shininess. I place a very white spotlight on one side and slightly reflect it on the other side. Simple!
