Ev­ery­one knows that AA Milne wrote Win­nie-the Pooh, but many il­lus­tra­tors cite the il­lus­tra­tor he worked with, Ed­ward Shep­ard as an in­flu­ence. He mod­elled the bear on Growler, a toy bear that be­longed to his son, though AA Milne wrote about a bear owned by his own son, Christo­pher Robin.
