4 Flat paint­ing

At this point I merge all the masks down onto the head layer to cre­ate a sin­gle opaque layer for the head, which I can be­gin to paint flatly on top of. I make sure that I flip the paint­ing and the ref­er­ence ev­ery now and then, to get some fresh eyes on it and look out for any ob­vi­ous er­rors, es­pe­cially if I was loose dur­ing the draw­ing stage.
